I had a hard time starting this book. I had to push it aside a couple of times because I didn’t quite understand the POV. But, Through sheer will and more than anything else, “curiousity” i got hooked and suprisingly ended up enjoying this book!
Oyeyemi writes with a witty and unhurried style that is nothing short of magic mixed with foreboding. Plus, I particularly loved the tiny little ways she dipped into the “yoruba” tribe in Nigeria, it was brilliant!
“White is for Witching” evoked a lot of unclear feelings. It was in the way she depicted the main characters in an almost quiet horror and intensity. All things considered, here’s one book I can certainly say was a few step removed from the natural strata.
